Far from Home screened at over 8 film festivals across the world, including the Academy award-qualifying Tasveer Film Festival and American Documentary and Animation Film Festival. The film and its corresponding artefacts won several awards, which are detailed below.
2023
The Association of Foreign Press Correspondents in the USA (AFPC-USA) recognizes U.S.-based international correspondents who publish in radio, television, online, and print media serving international audiences. Both American and foreign correspondents are eligible to apply, as long as their work is published in media that serve international audiences in the U.S. and abroad.
2024
The Best Short documentary award is an audience award at the Chicago South Asian Film Festival (CSAFF).
2023
The College Filmmakers Film festival gave Far from Home 4 awards, including Best Film and Best Director.
2024
The mission of the Japan Prize is to contribute to the advancement of the quality of educational content around the world and to foster mutual understanding between societies and cultures by recognizing works that make innovative use of visual media. Since its establishment in 1965, the competition has supported the power of the media by awarding outstanding works that foster people’s aspirations to further learn, reflect, empathize, and take action for the betterment of the world.
